Description
NAT: New industrial pressure transmitter in miniature design
Requests for small and reliable Pressure Transmitters is an increasing customer requirement, driven by rising needs in mobility (reduction of weight and volume to optimize the efficiency), minimization of maintenance or long-term function compliance.
The new NAT transmitter is designed without unnecessary and price-relevant features allowing you to select a unit at its best price/performance ratio and, owing to its compact dimensions, lends itself for installation in a restricted space. It provides excellent resistance to high vibration
A completely welded steel sensor system without additional seals provides overpressure ratings double nominal pressure, and the process connection contains an integral pressure peak damping element.
Trafag draws from decades of experience in the design, manufacture and application of pressure and temperature measuring instruments. Distributors can provide an excellent service on the spot worldwide.

Trafag pressure transmitters function on the following principles:
Thin-film-on-steel
By means of complex coating processes under high vacuum, a thin layer of film, only a few micrometers thick, is superimposed on a stainless steel membrane. The pressure sensor is then welded together with a pressure connection to form an assembly highly compatible with sample media.
Advantages
Completely weld-sealed sensor system made of stainless steel
No additional materials (e.g. O-rings) which could limit compatibility with certain sample media
Withstands very high overpressures of at least twice nominal pressure (burst pressure: approx. 3...10-fold of nominal pressure)
For gauge pressure ranges of 0....200 mbar up to 0....2000 bar
Excellent long-term stability (zero point less than 0.1% FS after 1000 h at 120°C)
High temperature-resistance
No backfilling of liquid necessary
Thick-film-on-ceramic
A Wheatstone bridge is superimposed onto a ceramic membrane by means of a screen printing process (thick film), and then fired.
Advantages
Resistant to aggressive media
For gauge and absolute pressure ranges from -1 to 250 bar
Inexpensive pressure sensor
The Swiss based Trafag stands for precision, reliability and maintenance-free operation in the field of SF6 gas density measurement. Its unique patented technology based on the quartz tuning fork (electronic sensor) as well as the principle of reference gas comparison (mechanical monitor) guarantee its outstanding accuracy and its operation in the widest temperature range on the market. The newly developed hybrid gas density monitor combines the advantages of both devices in a very compact all-in-one apparatus. With its analogue output it is therefore the ideal density monitor for SF6 trending systems.
Gas density controllers
These operate mechanically. The density of the sample gas is compared via a bellows system with the gas density in a reference gas chamber. If the density of the sample gas alters, the bellows system actuates one or more micro switches. Gas density controllers function independent of any power supply.
Trafag gas density controllers are employed internationally in gas-insulated, high-voltage switchgear in power distribution networks. Their performance record is worldwide is unique. Even at climate-related temperature fluctuations of over 135°C, they provide precise measurement results and function reliably and maintenance-free. They are therefore to be found all around the world, in the ice-cold polar regions or under the blazing desert sun.
Gas density sensors
function electronically. The consistent resonant frequency of a quartz oscillator under vacuum is compared with the resonant frequency of an identical quartz situated in the sample gas. The difference in the resonant frequency is proportional to the density of the sample gas. This difference is processed into a digital or analogue output signal.
